The APC gubernatorial candidate, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has once again declined to participate at a ONE ON ONE debate organised by Channels Television for only the two major candidates of the PDP and APC.
Channels Television on September 4th, in Benin, organised a debate among four candidates of four political parties; APGA, APC, Labour and PDP.
The second round of the debate was scheduled to hold 24th of September in Lagos among the candidates of the two major political pasties, APC and PDP.
Obaseki and Ize-Iyamu were scheduled to participate in the debate 24th September in Lagos.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu confirmed that he was “ever ready” to participate in the debate scheduled for Lagos. Initially, Mr Godwin Obaseki confirmed that he was prepared.
As at Day Before yesterday night, Friday, the Obaseki Campaign organisation confirmed to the organisers, which are their friendly channel, that Obaseki was already in Lagos awaiting for the interview. Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was in Benin and also approached. He confirmed that he would take the first flight to Lagos Saturday.
Saturday morning, the PDP candidate was set to leave when a new call came to him that the Godwin Obaseki campaign organisation has “given it a second thought and decided to decline the invitation for the debate.”
The live debate scheduled between Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for today, Saturday, has thus been cancelled because of Obaseki.
