BENIN CITY - During The Early hours of Thursday an Exclusive Interveiw took place between GME NETWORK Inc And the former SSA to the Previous Edo State Government on Art, Culture and Tourism And The Ceo of Peak Entertainment And organizer of DreamALIVE with Pikolo talent hunt Mr Daniel Pikolo.
The Interview was All about the current darkness that has befell Edo state Entertainment industry and how to get it back to the gaint that it were in the Good old days.
Interveiw lasted for some hours where Mr daniel Lamented Bitterly on the problems and solutions and urge everyone to come together and unity
Sir what is this Backwardness that has fall on the Entertainment industry?
First i have to say that greed, self centeredness and lack of possitive vision, relenting from ones dream has brought this on us all.
Let me start with a little of how i and few others of my colleagues got Our Offices in the Past Administration, During the campaign that brought in the previous Government, we were always hurting them to make sure we have a space to preform, i mean to show case our talent through the campaign period with alot of pleading with the campagn Organisers.
Mind you, we were not paid for it, Not a penny and so we kept following and making sure we used their platform as a means to Entertain people, on a faithful day the Governor of the past Administration Recongised Us and Gave us the opportunity to serve Our people by Empowering Us with Offices, NOTE THIS, i qoute " no Association wrote any letter of any such to the Governor to Empower Us, so anyone THINKING OR carrying any such Words knows were he or she got that from.
What happened to the good old days when an Edo Entertainer can look at the other and say this is my brother, when edo state was the power house of entertainment in South South?
That good old days, Entertainers were few then you can hand pick Entertainers in the state and we had just two media houses which all viewers were focused on and we are Happy when it comes to that, Its a possitive change and in life The only thing that is Constant is Change.
About what happens to that good Old days is greed and lack of positive vision which lead to many relenting from Their dreams.
With the current black out in the Edo entertainment industry, is it then lack of Investors?
No its not, investors has always been there right from way back its the Artist that sales his or her Ideal because most cases the investor dont have Any ideal, so thats were the Artist little brain work comes in.
We Heard there are Now Different sort of Entertainment bodies in edo state, how true, And does it Look like the solution to the current crisis in the Entertainment industry?
This is the major problem in the Entertainment industry today, yes there are and this is what started the whole set back that we are facing today And qoute me Having multiply Forum is useless and a big shame and blow to all edo entertainers because it wont help or do anyone Any Good, so i urge everyone if there is anytime to focus and tighing your Entertainment belt that time is now.
And i want use this medium to plead with all investors within this State both far and wide to over look and forgive Any form of dissagreement that anyone in the state might have ever had with them and lets move this Our God Given Entertainment industry forward today Thanks.
