North Korea fires rockets again

Despite several UN resolutions, the North Korean Communist Party has again launched a ballistic missile. The reaction from Japan, in the direction of which the projectile flew, did not take long.

The leadership in Pyongyang seems to be moving from nothing to anyone: In spite of international warnings, North Korea has again launched a short-range launch. The South Korean military said. It was a Scud rocket, which had flown about 450 kilometers after the start near the North Korean coastal city Wonsan and had fallen into the Japanese sea.  

South Korea's President Moon Jae In called for a meeting of the National Security Council in Seoul. Japan sharply criticized the rocket launch. "In cooperation with the US, we will take targeted measures to deter North Korea," announced Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. At the latest summit of the seven leading industries on the weekend, North Korea was agreed to be a top priority for the international community. In Washington, the presidential office said President Donald Trump had been informed about the latest test.

With the recent launch, Pyongyang has already launched three rockets in May alone. Several UN resolutions prohibit North Korea from testing rockets, which can also carry atomic bubblers depending on the design. It was only on Saturday that the group of the leading western industrial countries called on North Korea to stop its nuclear and missile programs "completely, verifiably and irreversibly". In the finalization of its summit in Sicily, the G7 calls on the world community to "double" their efforts to implement relevant UN resolutions.

The Communist leadership in North Korea has been conducting nuclear trials and numerous rocket tests since last year, threatening above all South Korea and the G7 member Japan. US President Donald Trump did not rule out a military strike against the East Asian country.

Pyongyang had recently launched a medium-range rocket into the sea on May 21st. According to the South Korean military, after launching in the west, the rocket had flown more than 500 kilometers before killing the Japanese Sea. Prior to this, North Korea had tested an even more powerful medium-range missile of another type on 14 May.

North Korea is pushing forward the development of missiles, which not only meet South Korea and Japan, but can also carry a nuclear explosion head up to the USA.
