The tragedy occurred when a DHL cargo plane crashed this morning, Nov. 25, near the Lithuanian capital.
One person currently has been confirmed dead, and three people have been injured, authorities of the Lithuanian airport have identified the aircraft as a "DHL cargo plane flying from Leipzig, Germany, to Vilnius Airport."Fourth persons are still missing and a search is currently under way.
Local authorities said the plane, operated for DHL by the Spanish cargo airline Swiftair, crashed near a house as it was on its final approach for landing.
The airport spokesperson said Special services of the cities are working together at the scene and leading the rescue efforts, as well as crews from the Vilnius Airport Fire Service," the situation is under control and normality is certain.
