Streetlight vandals in Abuja, FCTA arrest 16 suspects

Due to the vandalizing of streetlights in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA has arrested 16 suspects. 

On Friday, November 1, 2024, in a press briefing the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Chief Felix Obuah, disclosed some information regarding the recent series of arrests following a crackdown on vandals in the territory.

 

He stated that not less than 16 suspects were arrested in the last week, adding that on Thursday alone, five suspects were arrested, with two others evading capture. 

 

He therefore Emphasized the importance of public vigilance and media collaboration, saying  “Security is everyone’s responsibility. 

Also, adding that the support of local vigilance teams and hunters have been enlisted, which led to today’s arrests.”

 

He warned that legal action would be taken on any individual or group involved in vandalizing government property and or trading in the same.
